MISCELLANEOUS: Consider taking Gospel tracts, pocket-sized copies of the New Testament and/or
the Book of John. Prescription medication, vitamins and a travel-size first-aid kit. Know your audience
and avoid “babbling like pagans.” (Matthew 6:7-8). Don’t be afraid to shut people down (or ask them to
move away) who are trying to distract you. Luke 9:62. It’s important not to get in a “power struggle” with
harassers.
BATHROOMS: Locate businesses that offer friendly bathrooms for free or to paying customers (be
prepared to honor their bathroom policies.) I pay a monthly fee that allows me to use their bathroom and
kitchen area in a nearby office building, during business hours.
DRESS MODESTLY: 1 Timothy 2:9. Consider wearing T-shirts with a gospel message; “Jesus Loves
You.” “Jesus is Coming Back.” Etc.
PRAY CONTINUALLY: 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Psalm 122:6
BE READY: (1 Peter 3:15) Read and/or listen to the Bible (www.biblegateway.com). Hide God’s word in
your heart (Psalm 119:11). Pick up your cross everyday and follow Jesus. (Matthew 16:23-25.)
WATCH AND LEARN FROM OTHER EVANGELISTS: Frank Turek, Ray Comfort (Living Waters),
Charlie Kirk, Stuart & Cliffe Knechtle, J. Warner Wallace, Lee Strobel, etc.
WATCH YOUTUBE: “8 Reasons I Don’t Share My Faith.”
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: Freedom of Speech, Religion and Assembly; as well as the right to keep and
bear arms, in addition we have protection against unreasonable searches and seizures.
REMEMBER: “The Great Commission,” was given to every believer by Jesus, (Matthew 28:19-20).
Satan doesn’t take a day off, why should you?
The phrase, “Separation of Church and State” is not in the US Constitution. Never back down! Never be
ashamed of the gospel for, “It is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
(Romans 1:16)
SELF-PROTECTION: Depending on the area you are evangelizing in, you may want to carry a personal
defense spray (Mace / Pepper Spray) or weapon of your choice (Luke 22:36). Always remember who the
real enemy is! “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” Ephesians 6:12.
WARNING: Do not carry self-protection items if they are prohibited! Check area websites for further
instructions, heed posted signs and instructions from law enforcement personnel.
BE UNOFFENDABLE AND FORGIVING: Choose to overlook minor offenses and respond in love
and forgiveness. Keep in mind, “Hurt people, hurt people.” Quickly report any physical assaults and/or
violent acts to local law enforcement.
BE UNSELFCONSCIOUS: Allow Jesus to work through you. Let it be MORE about Jesus and LESS
about you. Pray that God will give boldness, courage and remove all fear, doubt and shyness as you share
God’s plan of salvation to a lost and dying world.
PREPARE: Charge your electronic devices and pack your bag (include ice water bottles, lunch or snacks)
the night before. Look for items online (Amazon) or in the travel section of your local store (Walmart /
Target).
IF OUTDOORS, CONSIDER PACKING: Hats, umbrellas, frozen ice rags, portable fans, megaphone / Bluetooth speaker, bug repellent, Christian signs or flags that proclaim the gospel message.
